About Manders

I love what I do! Painting energizes me and at the same time is meditative. I have painted and taught art classes in my studio, The Art Experience, for 40 years. So, by now it is impossible to separate Manders the artist from Manders the teacher.

I am honored to be the second woman ever selected United States Olympic Artist joining an exclusive club of internationally acclaimed Olympic Artists, including Picasso, Warhol, Diebenkorn, Peter Max, and David Hockney. My original paintings and limited editions are represented in fine art collections internationally and are archived by the National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington, DC.

My paintings and sculptures have been selected for Art In Public Places projects and corporate sectors such as Architectural, ASID, Hospitality, Gaming and Entertainment use my customized art services. Plus, as an artist I become the subject of student studies....

Throughout the United States several public and private school art teachers are study my work as a leading edge American female contemporary artist. I am pleased to provide any ancillary materials that teachers might wish. I am always pleased to speak to children and teens about the value of art in their lives.

I was mentored and studied in the United States, Mexico and Europe, where I was invited to the Royal College of Arts in London. Being a Los Angeles native, my artistic vocabulary stems from the LA multicultural lifestyles: paparazzi, Hollywood, Latino, fashionistas, celebrities, night life, beaches, and so on.

My style is figurative or narrative contemporary expressionism. Basically, I am a story teller with an edge. My art is bold and colorful. My palettes are diverse. And oh yes, I can be provocative.

“Manders is feel good art without apology,” says the LA Times. I can live with that description of me. But, I value your feed-back the most because I believe my paintings are complete only once you see them.
